In contemporary society，piracy has become a serious problem in our country，no matter in some big or small software shops；we can easily get many pirated software products，such as books，CDs，VCDs，and DVDs.And it is not extremely astonishing for us to enjoy pirated copies of movies even before their original versions hit the screens.Under such circumstances，these phenomena have already aroused public concern.
How come that piracy is so serious？There are a quite number of factors，and the main reason is the both social and individual could account for the problem of piracy which definitely exerts enormous harms.To start with，pirated products are muchcheaper than authentic ones and people will seldom purchase authentic commodities at the occasions when the prices of authentic products are most high while those of pirated ones，not being poor quality，are much lower，and the most important difference in cost between authentic products and pirated products makes the pirated products popular in the market.Secondly，most manufacturers or companies don’t have strong law and rules.Some corporations will，taking advantage of these laws，tolerate and encourage anything so long as it can bring them plenty of profits and they have to infringe other‘s copyright for population.Otherwise，they will go bankruptcy.
