The Famous Pearl Harbor and the Missouri 著名的珍珠港和密苏里号
Pearl Harbor is the base of the American naval and air in Pacific. The position is very important.
On December 7， 1941， Japanese fascists sent out 360 aircrafts in the early morning to attack the Pearl Harbor， destroying and hitting American warships and aircrafts. The USS Arizona which was the largest battleship of the U.S. military， it sank and all the 1177martyrs died. The next day， the United States declared war to Japan with the wail “Remember Pearl Harbor”， and the Pacific War erupted.
Today， Pearl Harbor is still the major naval base in the Pacific and also the second largest tourist destination. In May， 1962， President Kennedy designated the place where the USS Arizona sank as the national cemetery， and established Arizona Memorial there.
The white is located in the central of sea. It is made of alabaster panels， slender and beautiful. In the deepest of the Memorial， the white wall is shocking， filled densely with the names of the dead officers and soldiers.
Not far from the USS Arizona Memorial， there is another warship， which is called Missouri. Missouri was named by the home state of President Truman. The people of the United States and the world will never forget that day： On January 2， 1945， Missouri witnessed the historic moment of World War II： Japan signed its surrender on the right side of the deck.

如今，珍珠港仍是美国重要的太平洋海军军事基地，也是夏威夷第二大旅游胜地。1962年5月，肯尼迪总统指定亚利桑那号沉没处为国家陵园，并在沉没的那片水面上建立了亚利桑那号纪念馆。
白色的纪念馆位于大海中央，由雪花石膏板构成，形状修长优美。纪念馆的最深处，一堵白色的墓墙上密密麻麻地写满了殉难官兵的名字，令人触目惊心。
亚利桑那号纪念馆不远处，还有另一艘战舰，这就是密苏里号。密苏里号以杜鲁门总统家乡的州名命名。美国和世界人民都不会忘记那一天：1945年1月2日，密苏里号见证了二次大战结束的历史性时刻：日本在其右侧甲板上签署了投降书。
