Queenstown lies in the southwest of Otago area in South Island of New Zealand. The city surrounds the mouth of the lake of Wakatipu， close to the Southern Alps.
Queenstown"s history is closely linked to gold. In 1862， two shearers dug gold and became rich near Shotover River， followed by the rise of gold rush in the town. The origin of the name of Queenstown also has something to do with the gold. The Gold Rushers used the name to commemorate the British Queen Victoria.

Arrow Town
Arrow Town is located in the Arrow River， and one of the most picturesque residential areas in New Zealand. It was once a lively place for gold rush， but now is mainly a tourism.
Buckingham Street is the main street in the town. It reflects the prosperity of local people to do the year’s efforts. Ancient buildings stand along the street， together with all kinds of shops and restaurants.
There are many renovated buildings in Gold Rush era， and some stores of wool clothing， jade ornaments and jewelry. Lakes District Museum is known as New Zealand’s smallest museum， which shows the history of the gold rush with local artifacts. Skippers Canyon
Since the 1860s， Skippers Canyon has always been the regional center of gold mining activities in Queenstown， New Zealand. The adventure-loving tourists call the 20-acre place “Skippers Canyon”.
Skippers Canyon has also saved a lot of gold relics， some of which were refurbished. Visitors can experience the mysterious atmosphere in there.

Fiordland National Park
Fiordland National Park is one of the world’s largest national parks. It was built in 1952， located in the southwestern tip of South Island in New Zealand， an area of 12120 square kilometers.
Fiordland National Park is in the earthquake-prone areas. There are varieties of the landscapes here， such as fjords， rocky coasts， cliffs， alpine lakes and numerous waterfalls. These are the role of several glaciers carving.
The most famous fjord is Milford Sound， extending 22 km into rivers， with fjords and cliffs perpendicular to the surface， and ice cut into a V-shaped crosssection. On the cliff， the small waterfalls buzz and the large ones roar， merging into a symphony of natural sounds. The most famous waterfall is Suselan waterfall， with a total drop of 580 meters， raw lst of the world.
In Milford， in calm days， the sea will be reflected on the magnificent peak of Mattel. Mattel peak is one of New Zealand’s most scenic peaks.
