Don't go for looks
Guidance for Reciting
Never stop smiling, not even when you're sad, some man will fall in love with your smile.
Don't go for looks,
they can deceive.
Don't go for wealth,
even that fades away.
Go for someone who makes you smile,
because it takes only a smile to make
a dark day seem bright.
Notes
2.deceive [di5si:v] v.
3.fade [feid] v.
它后来变成了英语里面一个固定套路,格式是:blah blah never die,they just dada dada,比如:
Old teachers never die, they just lose their class.
Old Christmas trees don't die, they just pine away.
