Everyone needs friends，with whom you can share the bad times as well as the good times and to whom you can turn for help or advice when you are in trouble.
A true friend is someone who reaches for your hand and touches your heart.
There's always going to be people that hurt you，so what you have to do is to keep on trusting and just be more careful about whom you trust next time around.
Make yourself a better person and know who you are before you try and know someone else and expect them to know you.
Remember：Whatever happens happens for a reason. Maybe God wants you to meet many wrong people before you meet the right one，so when this happens，you'll be thankful.

要记住：任何事情的发生都有因有起。也许上帝让你在遇见那个合适的人之前遇见很多错误的人，所以，当这一切发生的时候，你应该心存感激。
口语点津
口语中，人们对“朋友”的称呼很多，比如buddy，fellow，bro，pal，partner，mate，amigo，cobber，companion等等，至于关系的亲疏程度还得结合具体的语言环境进行分析。有意思的是，来中国的international visitors并不喜欢被称作“老外”（foreigners）或外国朋友（foreign friends）。因为他们觉得，刻意区分“外国人”、“本国人”，让人感觉“不舒服”。尤其在美国，如果一个警察或者政府官员用“外国人”来指称一个到美国来的人，会引起强烈的反感。所以，以后在校园里碰见了外籍教师，你至少应该称其为“overseas teachers”。
