美国是汽车大国,汽车是美国生活必需品之一。在美国开车,如果发生车祸,不管是谁的错,最好不要先承认错误,如果自己承认错误,将会招来赔偿的责任。让保险公司去和对方协调责任归属。并且一定要向对方要求如地址(Address)、电话(Telephone Number)、姓名(Last and First Name)、车牌号码(License PIate Number)、保险公司电话(Insurance Phone Number)、保险公司名称(Insurance Company Name)、车辆注册证(Vehicle Registration)等资料。如果有目击者,也一定要向目击者要电话及姓名。
美国的停车场(parking Iot)一般都无人看管,但绝不可以抱侥幸心理,停错车的罚款(fine)也是很高昂的。认真阅读停车场的告示牌(billboard),看清允许停车的时间和时段。大部分的收费停车场都是自助的,一般为计时收费,付款后,停车收费的机器会打印出一张收据(receipt),一定要把这张收据放在从车外容易看到的位置,否则车辆有可能被拖走。另外,停车时也要留意不要将车辆停放在专门给残疾人(handicapped)使用的车位或有其他特殊标志的车位。
