Founded in 1863， Boston College is one of the oldest Jesuit universities located in the village of Chestnut Hill， Massachusetts， USA. Boston is a city unlike any other. Rich in history， the arts， academia， and sports， Boston has an eclectic mix of old-world charm and modern vitality. Located just outside the city， with direct access via trolley， Boston College is perfectly situated to provide its students with the opportunity to enjoy the charm and beauty of the city and its many cultural and recreational activities. One of the most remarkable things about Boston College is the architecture that the college is built in. It features some of the earliest examples of collegiate gothic architecture in North America making the surroundings historic to work and study in. Another thing that makes Boston College so great is its focus on international study. The Graduate School of Arts and Sciences at Boston College offers a wide range of programs in the humanities， social sciences， and natural sciences leading to the degrees of Ph.D.， M.A.， and M.S. In addition， numerous dual-degree options are offered in cooperation with the Carroll School of Management， the Boston College Law School， the Lynch School of Education， and the Graduate School of Social Work.
