Liuminying folk custom village is located in thetown of Changziying in the Daxing District ofBeijing，25 kilometers from the city center.Transportationto the village is very convenient.The villageoccupies a total of 146 hectares，has a total of 242 householdsand has a total population of 861.There are a totalof 98 homes open as folk custom guesthouses，including26 that meet municipal standards for guesthouses.
Liuminying has been depending on its excellent ecologicalenvironment，unique ecological model and cultureof folk customs in recent years to create an image of thevillage as“the number one Chinese village in eco-agriculture，”attracting the attention of the world.In particular，the village set up the folk custom tourism office，strengthenedpromotional efforts，standardized the managementof tourist services and formulated regulations for cateringto tourists，guide services and tourist safety in 2003.
In addition，management of the folk custom guesthouseswas unified，but operation of individual guesthouses remainsindependent.A regular inspection regime was setup for scenic spots and folk custom guesthouses as a freeservice to them.Finally，the tourism office trained guidesand presenters and provided vocational training for otherpersonnel in the local tourist industry，organized outsidevisits and study for people operating guesthouses，provides training classes to improve service skills，issuesbusiness licenses for guesthouses and publish news abouteco-agriculture and folk tourism and plans for all activitiesonline.
Liuminying has been listed in the“the top 500 in globalenvironmental protection”by the UN EnvironmentProgram.Liuminying，the number one Chinese villagein eco-agriculture，has been developing eco-agriculturaldemonstration sites for two decades，attracting touristsfrom 138 countries and regions of the world.Liuminyinghas been gradually developed into a hi-tech holiday villagefor folk custom tourism that combines eco-tourismand folk custom tourism as the main feature，complimentedby food and beverage，entertainment and exercisevenues，with intensive cultivation，aquaculture，harvesting，fishing，barbeque，lodging and agricultural sightseeing.
The Liumingying tourist area consists of four zones，two parks and two centers.The four zones are the hi-techorganic agricultural demonstration plot，contaminant-freeorganic vegetable demonstration plot，folk custom touristzone and demonstration zone for comprehensive use ofmethane and solar power;the two parks are the ecologicalpark and agricultural park;and the two centers arethe international ecological agricultural academic，studyand training center and restaurant，conference and entertainmentcenter.
The State Environmental Protection Administrationnamed Liuminying as an organic agriculture demonstrationbase in 2000.Liuminying has also been named as a“national advanced organization in building spiritual civilization，”one of the“top 1，000 villages in the country inplanting forests and landscaping，”“national agriculturaltourism demonstration site，”“Beijing patriotic educationbase”and“Beijing folk custom tourism village”It hasbeen recognized by the State Environmental ProtectionAdministration as an“organic farm.”
