春宿左省-Lodging at the Left Yamen On a Spring Night
春宿左省
杜甫
花隐掖垣暮,啾啾栖鸟过。
星临万户动,月傍九霄多。
不寝听金钥,因风想玉珂。
明朝有封事,数问夜如何。
Lodging at the Left Yamen On a Spring Night
Du Fu
Flowers grow dim as dusk befalls the Yamen walls fast;
Merrily chirp returning birds when they skim past.
With the stars twinkling, thousands of doors seem to move;
O’er the sky-high palace more moonlight shines above.
Hearing the turn of golden keys, I lie awake
And think it is horse-bells’ ringing the wind does make.
As I have a memorial to present to-morrow,
How the night has worn on, at times I’ll ask to know.
