英文导读
The University of Bologna (Italian: Università di Bologna, UNIBO) is a university located in Bologna, Italy, founded in 1088. Being the oldest in the western world, the university is one of the European Leaders in the internationalization process and harmonization of learning policies at European level. The university is historically notable for its teaching of canon and civil law; indeed, it was set up in large part with the aim of studying the Digest, a central text in Roman law, which had been rediscovered in Italy in 1070, and the university was central in the development of medieval Roman law. Until modern times, the only degree granted at that university was the doctorate. The University of Bologna was home to illustrious students including Petrarca, Boccaccio and Dante Alighieri, and a laboratory for many famous academics studying in its different schools—from law to medicine, from the arts and philosophy to mathematics and science. Over the centuries it has developed to carve out and maintain a central role in forging knowledge for the society of the future. The University of Bologna has become renowned for its research: from chemistry and engineering to archaeology and law. Research lies at the heart of this old institution. The University has also four campuses throughout the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy, at Cesena, Forlì, Ravenna, Rimini and a campus abroad in Buenos Aires. The Cesena campus has a predominantly scientific orientation, while Ravenna focuses on subjects such as cultural heritage, archaeology, regional planning and urban design. Forlì is about political science (international relations) and translation studies, while Rimini is for fashion and tourism. The campus of Buenos Aires was established with the objective of training a managerial class capable of recognising, foreseeing, interpreting and taking the right decisions in companies, organisations and institutions that operate at an international level and, in particular, in the sector concerning relations between the European Union and Latin America.
