美国“四橡树”办公楼

这是一组由三幢26—32层和一幢2层办公楼组成的建筑群。三幢高楼中,由于中间的一幢在方位上的变化,因此从各个不同角度看去也随之改变,给人以整体感和富于变化的印象。高楼柱体削去四个棱角变成了八角形柱体,显得柔和与简洁。窗户镶嵌双层反射玻璃(穿透率为14%),窗间上下部分装修瓷砖,银色与蓝褐色对比,使建筑群格外秀丽。

美国洛杉矶好运饭店

饭店建在洛杉矶邦克希尔区。它的下部是一个五层高的矩形大基座,上面矗立着一簇圆塔,中央塔楼高37层,四角上的高30层。采取这种圆塔的形式并非毫无根据,因为洛杉矶的这个地区相当杂乱,圆形是能够和这个城市环境较好协调起来的一种形式。另外,设计者还认为,圆形有助于创造丰富多变的室内空间和室外体形。塔的外墙用青铜色镜面玻璃映现出周围的景物,并在阳光照射下发出耀眼的闪光,成了这个地区引人注意的中心。

美国奥杰艾山谷旅馆

自20世纪20年代以来,奥杰艾镇逐渐形成具有西班牙风格的,风景如画的镇容。奥杰艾旅馆坐落在小镇谷地里的一个小丘上,前面是一片开阔的、绿草如茵的坡地。奥杰艾旅馆是一幢具有西班牙浪漫色彩的建筑。

美国卡内塔旅游旅馆

卡内塔旅馆位于俄勒冈州中部印第安保留区内。这里空气新鲜,阳光充足,对居住在多雾多雨的海滨居民具有极大的吸引力。

旅馆共有90间客房,两个餐厅。既可接待旅游者,也可供举行会议之用。建筑物坐落在山坡上,面向广阔的原野,强调了与四周环境相协调的设计意图。平面布置把客房分成两翼,构成一个三角形庭院。庭院中心设有个露天游泳池,围绕游泳池布置休息平台,休息平台与宽大的敞厅相连。休息厅内设有壁炉,并用木桁架及木墙面作室内装修。室外廊柱采用去皮圆木及大片木板外墙,并漆成橙黄色。建筑形象、色彩以及室内装修(如壁炉上的浮雕装饰)具有印第安民族风格。

科威特驻华盛顿办公处

科威特驻美国大使办事处位于华盛顿新使馆区“国际中心”中,占地半英亩,地下二层,地上三层(地上高度被限制在48英尺以下)。人们从地面上看到的,是一个由白色不锈钢和灰绿色镜面玻璃组成的立方体,其首层被挖去一角,安排了主要出入口。部分办公室以及会议室、厨房和各种辅助用房安排在地下。

客厅,是这个立方体建筑的核心,高三层,是一个多棱体空间,焕射着宝石似的五光十色的光彩。光线透过复杂而精细的图案,令整个客厅显得华丽璀璨。

谢南多亚太阳能文体中心

谢南多亚是以太阳能新技术和设备的规划、研究和制造为中心的新城,离亚特兰大市中心56公里。这座文体中心是新城的居民中心,面积5400平米,据称可能是美国利用太阳能采暖和制冷的最大一座建筑。

这座文体中心由理查德·L.泰勒(Richard L.Taylor)和詹姆斯·B.威廉斯(James B.Williams)设计。它的太阳能系统,是在詹姆斯·R.威廉斯(James R.Williams)博士指导下,由乔治亚理工学院的一个工程小组设计的。

美国韦尔斯利学院科学中心

韦尔斯利学院是美国一所历史悠久的女子学校,有强烈的科学传统。学院有1800名学生,其中有700到800人正规修习11个主要理科专业开设的课程。

直到前不久,这些专业还分散在校园各处的许多座建筑物里。今天,科学力求在专业之间相互渗透,这种情况就不能满足要求了。然而,这还不是学院惟一的困难,在实验室的使用上也存在问题。其中有些实验随着时间的推移进步了,旧的实验室不能满足需要,改建起来花费很大,而且维持一定数量单一用途的实验室要花许多钱。

美国底特律商业区步行桥

底特律商业区被高速公路和城市道路所切割,对步行者十分不便。新的步行桥系统把一座大型体育馆(竞技馆)和一幢汽车停车楼联系在一起。它的规划、设计受到地段形状、原有地面交通、建筑物和各种地下设施的严格限制。

步行桥整体呈y字型,与体育馆、停车楼都斜接。东西向步行桥截面圆形,南北向步行桥截面为矩形。两者相接处之平面关系。体育馆三年前建成,有20250个座位。停车楼长650英尺,可停车3000辆。它的正面有三个竖井,还有一条水平通路与步行桥直接联系。竖井及通道都用玻璃做外墙。
