《走在雨中》是由吉姆·里卫斯（Jim Reeves）创作的，虽然里卫斯不像普莱斯利——猫王那
样享有盛誉，也不像列侬那样开创了摇滚乐的新辉煌。然而里卫斯的这首乐曲却成为大众爱唱的热门歌曲。歌名《走在雨中》，其意义已由歌词内容和just限定。从汉语表达walk的意义来看，似乎译为“漫步雨中”更有诗情画意。但这样却与歌曲的内容相偏离。“漫步”的内涵是那么轻松愉快，心乐优美，可是本首歌曲的基调恰好与之相反——忧郁沮丧，孤独无助的落魄形象。
《走在雨中》的乐曲旋律，从头至尾贯穿从高到低的音量和缓慢迟钝的节奏。第一句的“5”音到“3”音，第二句的“3”到“1”，第三句的“2”到“7”音，都处在一种从上到的伤感之中，句中略有起伏的往复，也只是一种无助的努力，第四句音调提高到“6”音，原来是为“忘却”在努力。作者这样的安排显示出他对歌曲精神的理解。中间重复两遍演唱的高音区域的章段正是该首曲子的独具风格的叙事成分。高音的运用表达出对“我”的打击是多么的大。
