3主题归纳及文章旨意题。对阅读理解的解答不能停留在对原文中某个词语或句子理解的水平上,而必须对文章的有关信息或全部信息进行必要的加工、处理,进而达到在语篇水平上的理解,才能正确选择出答案,切忌以点代面、以偏概全。
这类问题常使用下面一些题目:

Passage 1
Rock and roll came from jazz (爵士乐) and blues during the 1950s. One of the first rock and roll songs was Bill Haleys Rock Around the Clock. One of the first very famous rock and roll singers was Elvis Presley. Others were Buddy Holly and Chuck Berry. Now almost every country has many rock and roll bands and singers. Sometimes performers call their music by different names, like Rap or Punk which came from rock and roll, or rock music.
Some fans who like rock music think classical music is boring.① Many fans play rock music very loudly. They forget about the people who enjoy soft music. Loud music can make these people nervous. Many fans also like to dance to rock and roll.
When rock and roll was new, people had only records to play the music at home. After that, we used cassette (录音带) taped and records. Now we listen to music on compact discs(CD唱片). Most modern bands and singers use companies to make videos of their songs.② With videos, fans can see the performers at the same time as they listen to the music. Making a recording and the video that goes with it is very expensive.

Passage 2
When we think of Hollywood (好莱坞), we think of films and famous film stars. Today people make films on other places too. Not all famous film stars live in Hollywood. But Hollywood is still a very special city in Los Angeles (洛杉矶), California (加利福尼亚).
You can easily see where Hollywood is in Los Angeles. There is a big sign (标志)on the hills. It says “HOLLYWOOD ” . The white letters are fifty feet tall. You can see the sign from far away.
