楚江微雨里，建业暮钟时。
漠漠帆来重，冥冥鸟去迟。
海门深不见，浦树远含滋。
相送情无限，沾襟比散丝。

In the widespread drizzle o’er the Yangzi River
Evening tolls can be heard from the Nanjing City.
Lagging come the sails， shrouded in heavy moisture
While in twilight rain-drenched homing birds slowly fly.
Deep is the sea’s gate， no one here ever can see；
And far along the banks stand richly moistened trees.
Bidding you adieu， I give my feelings a vent free；
For to stain my clothes silky strands of my tears ne’er cease.
