It’s a quiet night， no neighbour showing his face.
As my estate declines， I live in this wild place.
Here， those trees of yellow leaves are seen in the rains
And a white-headed old man under the lamp-light wanes.
As I’ve long suffered from a lone life unhappy，
Your frequent kind visits make me feel uneasy.
Howe’er， we’re fated to each other to be dear；
The more so， because we two are relatives near.
