My Childhood

Happy is he that is happy in childhood. Has this passage made you recall your own childhood，distressed，light-hearted，overburdened or colorful？
There is only one word which can describe my childhood―“carefree”.
I was never forced to do anything. I recited a lot of poems and prose them，but not for performing before their friends and our relatives，just because I enjoyed their rhythms and words. So I never regarded them as a burden. Later，when I was in the primary school，the assignment was very easy to learn，and I was never asked to be the top student. As long as I finished my homework，I could stay outside for a whole afternoon，playing with my friends，sketching and so on. I could read any book and my parents never examine it before.
Apart from delicious food，beautiful clothes and pretty dolls，what impressed me most about my childhood is that I was really carefree and happy then. What is more important than to give a child a happy childhood？

从来没有人强迫我做过什么。那时，我背诵了许多诗文，但不是为了在亲朋面前表演，只是因为我喜欢它们的节奏和文字。所以，我从未将它们当成负担。后来，我上了小学，功课很容易学，而且也没人要求我成为优等生。只要写完作业，我就可以和小朋友一起玩一个下午，或去外面写生。我可以读任何书，而父母从不事先检查。
除了好吃的食物、漂亮的衣服和可爱的布娃娃之外，童年给我印象最深的就是，那时的我确实很快乐、无忧无虑。有什么能比给孩子一个快乐的童年更重要呢？
